Model & Toy Trains Over The Years The Train Collectors Society will be holding their 19th Summer show at Stantonbury Leisure Centre in a large airy and well lit main sports hall with 20 working model and toy train displays and over 20 specialist model and toy train traders.  Wide aisles will allow plenty of space for viewing. Cut&Thrust: Single Sword Masterclass

This one-day masterclass will introduce participants to the 16th Century Renaissance European Rapier, a style of swordplay known for for its fast paced, exciting combination of cut and thrust techniques. Made popular in such films as The Princess Bride, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Mask of Zorro, it is the sword that saw combat move from the mass melee of the battlefield to the streets, where swordplay became more personal, more structured and the importance of an individual’s honour meant that duels were used to settle private feuds. During the workshop combatants will learn how to move according to the renaissance Masters of Fence, as well as how to cut, thrust and parry oncoming attacks. FakePunch: Unarmed Combat Masterclass

Want to learn how fights are created and performed for theatre and film? Want to punch like Chuck Norris? Or take someone down like Jason Bourne? This masterclass is open to anyone interested in learning the basic but constantly used hand-to-hand combat techniques both on stage and screen. Participants will learn how to slap, punch, kick, grapple and strangle one another whilst gaining an understanding of fight rhythm, making it work for the audience and how to move a fight across a performance space. Throughout the workshop combatants will progress from learning individual techniques to performing phrases of fight choreography that will challenge them to maintain an awareness of themselves, their environment and their partners safety. ROTARY CLUB SWIMATHON

The Rotary Club of Milton Keynes organises a Swimathon each year. Since its inception in 1994 the event has raised over £450,000. The charities which are being supporting in 2017 will be announced shortly. Swimathon’s purpose is to raise money mainly for local Charities, (and other Charities supported by Rotary International). There is still time for teams of up to six swimmers to get involved. You do not need to be an expert. Experienced swimmers or beginners who can swim a length (25 metres) unaided can take part, as can children, (with parental permission.) You only need to be prepared to give up an hour of your time and get your friends to sponsor you and your team. Young Photographers competition – MyMK

Calling all young photographers! We’d like you to get out and about and take a photograph of your favourite view of Milton Keynes, as part of the MK50 celebrations this year! Brief: Open to any young person aged 22 or under, submit up to 5 images. If you are under 13 of course then you shouldn’t be on here! So please get an adult to upload the images for you. The Ifybella Kidney Charity stems from a story of hardship, fear and pain suffered by a young woman and mother for whom her world nearly ended prior to a successful kidney transplant. It is a thank you for the gift of renewed life following a fight by both Ifeoma, her loved ones and medical staff to restore her health.
