Festive Road Training Opportunies

Do you – or someone you know – want to work with Festive Road, gaining experience in delivering workshops in schools, learning about carnival arts and help make amazing things in our workshop? Then we want to hear from you…

Over the next 12 months Festive Road is running a unique training programme and we are looking to offer places for up to four trainee artists to work with the company. Initially we are looking for applications from artists to work with us in 2014; however there may be opportunities for trainees to continue working with us into 2015.

We’ll be electing artists who are particularly interested in:

  • working with schools and communities
  • Gaining experience in arts education settings
  • Delivering participatory arts activity
  • Developing making skills in Carnival, costume & theatrical engineering

Festive Road is offering a range of opportunities:

  • hands on experience delivering workshops,
  • involvement in the design and creation of projects,
  • some paid work,
  • some volunteer experience
  • some mentoring.

In return we will be able to cover expenses and some artist fees. We require a high level of commitment from trainees to the programme. All the work, whether paid or voluntary, will be contracted so please check your availability on the timetable before applying.

More information: Most of the training activity will be taking place in Milton Keynes, Northampton and Bedfordshire. Trainees must have a full and up to date CRB/DBS check and are required to be registered as Self Employed or be in the process of registering.
To apply:
Please send a letter of interest (one page of A4 max) and a copy of your CV to:
carnival@festiveroad.org.uk by Friday 13th June 2014

After we have received all the applications we may invite you to an interview/informal chat but we’ll let you know if we will be offering you a place on the programme as soon as we can.
