Arts Gateway is looking for a PROJECT MANAGER to run the second MK Arts Week annual mixed arts/open studios event planned for 30th September to 8th October 2017.
Arts Gateway MK is continuing this annual programme designed to involve creative artists in a range of genres, across MK and neighbouring areas. MKAW 2016 was funded and successful, and left a small surplus to pump-prime 2017. An early task will be to secure the funding for 2017 go ahead with the expectation that the post will be paid, as for the 2015 pilot and 2016 initial year. Alex Stacey last year very effectively showed how it could be done, and is available to brief her replacement.
We are looking for a self-starter, able to organize the many stakeholders involved, with enthusiasm for visual and performing arts and a passion for creating magic. Experience of successfully running a creative programme or project is highly desirable, but even more important is the ability to organize, and persuade. If you can persuade us you`re the right person, you`re probably capable of making it happen.
You will be based at Arts Central in CMK, reporting to and supported by the project team overseeing MK Arts Week, and will also need paid and volunteer help. A number of events are already being discussed for MK Arts Week 2017 including the fourth iteration of Festival of Nations, a development of the three body paint events promoted last year, a repeat of Art in Motion, and screenings to coincide with an MK Film Festival. You`ll be able to influence how your time is allocated and the call on your time will vary across the life of the project from May through to October. Payment will be on an hourly basis according to demand, probably equivalent to one day a week across the life of the project.
If you`re interested in this route to creative success, send a CV and covering email to John.firstname.lastname@example.org. To find out where we`ve got to so far and discuss the terms of the commission and the detailed arrangements, phone John on 07710 553862. We would like to appoint during February, so get back to us as soon as you see this, certainly no later than 31st January.
Arts Gateway MK is committed to paying the Living Wage
