Expressions of interest are welcomed by all artists based in the Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire areas interested in creating sited artistic work within the community of Loughton and Great Holm, Milton Keynes. The selected artist will work alongside Loughton and Great Holm Parish Council in response to a brief. Artists are asked to submit no more than 2 pages of A4 outlining what they would like to create, how this would be implemented and potential budget. Artists are also requested to submit CV and images and/or online links to previous works.

Part of this years Milton Keynes 50th anniversary celebration, the sculpture will be about creating a focal point and legacy piece that helps bring our two residential communities, Loughton and Great Holm together while inspiring generations of the future. It needs to reflect diversity and aspirations of the community but also be of a certain scale and beauty for people to take pride in.

The chosen sculpture will need to be completed by mid 2018 and last a minimum of 25 years. Project budget must be fully inclusive, e.g. designing and constructing the work of art, project managing, transporting it to the site and mounting it on a substantial base. Total to be negotiated in the range of £5-6,000.

Deadline for Expressions of interest submissions is 5.00pm 21 July 2017. Shortlisted artists will be asked to work up initial ideas to be presented at interviews mid August 2017.
