Calling all dancers and musicians in MK! Be part of the Rugby World Cup 2015 event in Oct!

Are you a dancer or musician in Milton Keynes who would like to be part of something special this October? If the answer is yes, The Parks Trust would like to hear from you. Applications are now open to all music and dance groups and individuals of various styles and genres in Milton Keynes. Sign up today to have the chance of being involved in the ‘ROOTS’ showcase this October. ‘ROOTS’ is the name of a show that aims to encourage artists to explore their cultural roots through music and dance. The show will have two, 40-minute halves, and will take place on Sunday October 11 2015, Campbell Park, Milton Keynes as part of Milton Keynes’ Rugby World Cup 2015 official Fanzone. For the Fallen – Commemorative Dance – Juy the 5th

Sunday, July 5 at 3:00pm Milton Keynes, Campbell Park Experience a large-scale commemorative dance at Campbell Park against the backdrop of 500 hand-made banners all inspired by WW1. FREE Event – two performances at 3pm and 5pm. By July Westbury Arts Centre, working with talented textile artist Vinny Stapley, and schools, community groups and residents of Milton Keynes, will have produced over 500 commemorative banners. These banners will form part of a large-scale dance piece, choreographed by Helen Parlor, Effie McGuire-Ward and Chris Bradley, that involves over 100 dancers and will move around Campbell Park. Inspired by stories from the Great War and addressing themes of conflict, this will be a beautiful act of commemoration. A Great War MK Event.

Arts Gateway Mingle (Arts Networking) – 23rd June

Male Performers Needed For ‘A Chorus Line’!!

‘A Chorus Line’ is an exciting and unique show, structured around an audition with a director and his assistant casting a new musical. During the audition, there is plenty of opportunity for drama, dancing and brilliant songs composed by Marvin Hamlisch. The dancers talk, sing, and dance themselves into more revelations until they reach the climax of the final decision on who will be cast. There are some amazing songs, including ‘One’ (singular sensation); ‘At the Ballet’ and ‘What I did for Love’. It will be performed at ‘The Chrysalis Theatre’ from October 21st – 24th 2015. Forget dancing in the street, this May is all about dancing in the park! MÓTUS Dance Festival is back again for 2015 on Sunday 31st May, with a Work In Progress Event taking place on Friday 29th May. Performances will kick off in and around MK Gallery before moving on to new pastures in Campbell Park. The festival will feature professional and community dancers alike animating the sites in central Milton Keynes. The event is free to attend and there are two opportunities to catch the action. Audiences are invited to meet at MK Gallery at either 3pm or 5.30pm from where they will process to Campbell Park with the performance culminating at the MK Rose.
