Dance theatre workshop with Stuart Waters (Protein, Bare Bones, Panta Rei Danseteater)

MÓTUS is back again; offering a professional day of dance and text development in Milton Keynes with Stuart Waters (Protein, Bare Bones, Panta Rei Danseteater, Motionhouse): www.stuartwaters.com The professional development workshop will consist of a morning class followed by a day of creativity made up of improvisations and creative tasks. The day will be an enquiry into focus points that have come out of Stuart’s successful ACE funded R&D period in 2014. These themes include gluttony and commercialism in the 21st Century. The day is open to dancers and actors who will contribute to further research for the work which aims to go into creation later in 2015. The day will vary in physicality and text work and will be a combination of the two

The Arts Gateway (Networking) Mingle and re-launch of Arts Central on Level 2 – 18th March 2015

Please come and join us for our first Mingle ‘Networking for the Arts’ event of 2015 and official re-launch of AC on Floor 2 of Station House!   Arts Central, 2nd Floor South, 500 Elder Gate, Milton Keynes, Mk9 1BB 6.30 – 9pm There’ll be the usual Mingle activities, with lots of networking, some refreshments, performance, music whilst browsing one or 2 stalls. Call out to all AC residents The AGMK Board of Trustees would like to extend an invitation to all resident artists to submit design ideas for a new Arts Central logo. The Brief The logo must reflect the diverse creativity of the organisation and its members, expressing the various elements that make up our different genre teams (Visual Arts; Theatre, Film & Drama; Dance; Literature & Spoken Word; Art & Wellbeing; Art & Education and Art & Technology). Dance workshop with Southpaw Dance Company

Fresh from the IF Festival Southpaw Dance Company, as part of the MÓTUS dance festival will be returning to Milton Keynes on the 8th February 2015 to hold a workshop from 10am-5pm. In this workshop participants will be introduced to Southpaw’s distinctive movement vocabulary through an hour long class which will prepare the body for the rest of the day. We will carry out some simple improvisation tasks which will illustrate choreographic relationships and the transmission of meaning through movement. As the workshop develops, participants will be led in choreographic tasks to explore their own movement qualities / themes, and derive movement that will feed into short performable phrases with an option to share. Come dressed appropriately in track bottoms, socks, a spare T-shirt, and loose clothing enabling
