MK Gallery invites children and young people to produce and submit a short film between 15 seconds and 3 minutes in length of any genre, in response to the competition theme. World Art Exhibition for Festival of Nations – Call Out to Artists

World Art Exhibition July 30th – August 13th 2015 Call Out to Artists Arts Gateway MK is holding a World Art Exhibition at Arts Central as part of the Festival of Nations. Open to all artists, all media. The Festival of Nations is a celebration of international music, dance, storytelling, poetry, film, photography, fashion, games and more. The Look of Silence film screening in Milton Keynes – Sun 14 June

The Look of Silence is the companion piece to the 2013 BAFTA-Winning documentary ‘The Act of Killing’. Through Director Joshua Oppenheimer’s work filming perpetrators of the Indonesian genocide, a family of survivors discovers how their son was murdered and the identity of the men who killed him. The youngest brother is determined to break the spell of silence and fear under which the survivors live, and so confronts the men responsible for his brother’s murder – something unimaginable in a country where killers remain in power. This screening will be followed by a live satellite Q&A with Director Joshua Oppenheimer, hosted by Louis Theroux.
