Bucks Open Studios at the Cornerstone gallery

June 10th – 25th For the 2nd year 11 artists have taken over the Cornerstone Church and filled it with art, stitch, colour and creativity. Textiles from Yvonne Elliott, Hilary Grayson, Jane Charles and Alison Pearson. Batik from Jane Sharp. Drawing from Nicola Saunderson. Stained glass by Elaine Marsh. Paintings from Catherine Smith, Tracey Mason and Sheila Ward. Lino prints from Helen Taylor. Artists will be in residence on Saturdays and Sundays and Wednesday afternoon into the evening, pop along to say hello, or just call into the church when you are passing. It’s a beautiful space. Call Out for artists, dancers and community groups for Festival of Giants

As part of the official #MK50 Birthday Celebrations, MÓTUS is curating performance events for Festive Road’s ‘Festival of Giants’ – a big, free, outdoor arts festival in Campbell Park on Sunday 25th June 2017. We are on the look out for artists, performers, acoustic musicians, dancers and community groups to be part of this MK50 celebratory event. Arts In the Park Festival – July 1st and 2nd

Milton Keynes explores Migration in Art in the Park Festival   Art in the Park Festival, organised by Milton Keynes Islamic Arts Heritage and Culture (MKIAC) returns to Campbell Park for its eighth successive year with the theme of Migration from Saturday 1st July (1-7pm) to Sunday 2nd July (1-6pm).   This celebratory multicultural festival has grown to attract over 11,000 people annually and provides a platform for local emerging talent to share a stage alongside internationally respected musicians, dancers, visual artists, chefs, storytellers and poets.   Art in the Park is delighted to be included in the MK50 major event program – to mark the city’s anniversary. Feast of Fire: Artist Commissions for MK50 and City Club

CALLING ARTISTS FROM BEDFORDSHIRE, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE AND HERTFORDSHIRE! Feast of Fire is a magical and fiery event to celebrate Milton Keynes 50th anniversary. Taking place on Saturday 21 October from 6.30pm in Central Milton Keynes, this free event is being produced by The Stables with IF: Milton Keynes International Festival for MK50 and City Club with MK Council. Created by outdoor arts specialists Walk the Plank, the evening will include fire sculptures, a torchlit procession, Spellbound family show, live music, fireworks and pyrotechnics. Model & Toy Trains Over The Years The Train Collectors Society will be holding their 19th Summer show at Stantonbury Leisure Centre in a large airy and well lit main sports hall with 20 working model and toy train displays and over 20 specialist model and toy train traders.  Wide aisles will allow plenty of space for viewing. Cut&Thrust: Single Sword Masterclass

This one-day masterclass will introduce participants to the 16th Century Renaissance European Rapier, a style of swordplay known for for its fast paced, exciting combination of cut and thrust techniques. Made popular in such films as The Princess Bride, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Mask of Zorro, it is the sword that saw combat move from the mass melee of the battlefield to the streets, where swordplay became more personal, more structured and the importance of an individual’s honour meant that duels were used to settle private feuds. During the workshop combatants will learn how to move according to the renaissance Masters of Fence, as well as how to cut, thrust and parry oncoming attacks.
