Performance opportunity for Secret Garden Illuminations!

Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council is holding an 8 day long Winter Illumination Event during the last week of November/December. They have engaged an artist who will illuminate the Secret Garden on Stratford Road from 16.00 – 21.00 each evening and are looking to have a different food vendor along with entertainment EVERY evening. Would you and/or anyone that you know be interested in performing on WEDNESDAY 29th November? They would like some short (15 minute) performances over the four hour period. There is an expenses cover of £50 for the evening. Milton Keynes Cultural Education Partnership Opportunity for Arts Organisations / Artists **Deadline 9th October** MK Cultural Education Partnership (MKCEP) invites applications from arts providers* working in Milton Keynes to participate in an exciting action research project focused on ‘place-making’.  The CEP seeks a maximum of five arts providers to work in partnership with local primary schools and is particularly keen to hear from those looking to develop their learning based practice and build stronger relationships with schools.  The aim of the programme is to identify and support the growth of cultural leadership within schools and arts education leadership in the cultural sector.  Joint project planning, delivery and reflection between teachers and arts providers will assist in deepening a common agenda – focusing in particular on

Summer fun with new free smartphone app created especially for Discovering MK

Discovering MK is a new smartphone app launching on 31st July 2017. Celebrating MK’s 50th birthday year, the app encourages residents and visitors to get out and explore Milton Keynes, discovering the places and spaces that make this city unique. Inspired by the Pokémon Go craze, the Discovering MK app reveals an interactive trail of 50 hidden gems around the city. At each location along the trail, you can unlock information about the landmark, challenge yourself, your family and friends to a fun mini quiz and upload a ‘selfie’ to show you are there. We need to get our messages and requests out to an ever widening audience, beyond our core community of artists and creatives. We wish to promote MK as a creative place, and encourage anyone and everyone to support a wider range of creative activity. Bucks Open Studios at the Cornerstone gallery

June 10th – 25th For the 2nd year 11 artists have taken over the Cornerstone Church and filled it with art, stitch, colour and creativity. Textiles from Yvonne Elliott, Hilary Grayson, Jane Charles and Alison Pearson. Batik from Jane Sharp. Drawing from Nicola Saunderson. Stained glass by Elaine Marsh. Paintings from Catherine Smith, Tracey Mason and Sheila Ward. Lino prints from Helen Taylor.
