We are pleased to present a commissioning opportunity open to artists, practitioners and cultural organisations.  The commission, part of the Pedalling Culture project, is for arts activities/interventions during Summer 2018, which encourage greater engagement with the Redways of Milton Keynes.  We are looking for projects that will encourage citizens and visitors to take part in active exploration of the Redway network, its environment and the cultural venues and sites that the network links to. Artist Residency Opportunity Arts for Health Milton Keynes are looking for three artists who work site-specifically to respond to the Peartree Bridge estate of Milton Keynes, as a location for research and public engagement. Artists working across visual art, sound, performance, dance and music are invited to submit applications that consider ways of responding to the location, context, history and geography of Peartree Bridge in Milton Keynes. Selected artists will be invited to work with the Arts for Health team on one of the three residencies. The residencies look to develop ideas for participatory happenings with the community that bring together people and place, connecting with themes relating to a newly commissioned artwork by Boyd and Evans at Milton Keynes University Hospital. Volunteering Opportunity – History Researchers needed

Are you interested in the history of Milton Keynes? Why not get involved with helping Westbury Arts Centre develop their historical story. We’re looking for interested people to join our team to help with the research into our 17th century site. Working with the Living Archive we’ll provide training in digitisation and the recording of documents and images.  No experience necessary just lots of enthusiasm! Westbury Arts Centre dates back to the 17th Century and is a grade II listed farm house in Shenley Wood, Milton Keynes. We want to tell the story of Westbury and share its largely unknown heritage with the people of Milton Keynes. Milton Keynes Cultural Education Partnership Opportunity for Arts Organisations / Artists **Deadline 9th October** MK Cultural Education Partnership (MKCEP) invites applications from arts providers* working in Milton Keynes to participate in an exciting action research project focused on ‘place-making’.  The CEP seeks a maximum of five arts providers to work in partnership with local primary schools and is particularly keen to hear from those looking to develop their learning based practice and build stronger relationships with schools.  The aim of the programme is to identify and support the growth of cultural leadership within schools and arts education leadership in the cultural sector.  Joint project planning, delivery and reflection between teachers and arts providers will assist in deepening a common agenda – focusing in particular on

World Mental Health Day 2017

To mark World Mental Health Day 2017, a fantastic evening of art and live music will be held at Arts Central in Central Milton Keynes on Tuesday 10 October at 7pm. This free event has been organised by Shanon Austin, and is being supported by Arts Central, Pohwer, CCG, CNWL, The Mix, Rethink Mental Illness, Mind BLMK, The Parks Trust & Milton Keynes Council. The evening will provide an opportunity for people who are living with mental health issues to share their stories and to also encourage guests to talk openly about the often-misunderstood topic. The programme includes a “Silent Auction”, art pieces donated by Peter Leeson with proceeds going to the WMHD MK event, an art exhibition with works done by talented people who
