NEWS: New AGMK Spoken Word Team is LIVE

AGMK from today has a new Spoken Word Team, to be led by Terrie Howie and Richard Frost. The Spoken Word Team will now be responsible for: performance poetry, storytelling, stand-up, tour guiding, public speaking, and performance skills and events related to these areas. These areas are mostly subsumed under the Literature Team at the moment. This change leaves the Literature Team responsible for: fiction, page poetry, other prose (life-writing, biography, non-fiction, journalism), graphic novels, and the purely creative-writing side of drama and film (i.e. playwriting and scripts). The next Arts Gateway (Networking) Mingle – 30th September @ AC

Please come and join us for our popular Mingle event – Networking for the Arts at 6.30 – 9pm Following the Arts Council Funding Workshop (the workshop is now full but there is a waiting list should you wish to go on it) There’ll be the usual Mingle activities, with lots of networking, some refreshments, performance, music whilst browsing one or 2 stalls. Our Big Gig @ Thr Buszy: Saturday 12 July

As part of the National Big Gig programme we will be hosting an outdoor stage of live music all day from a host of local bands, DJ’s, solo artists & MC’s. Festive Road Training Opportunies

  Do you – or someone you know – want to work with Festive Road, gaining experience in delivering workshops in schools, learning about carnival arts and help make amazing things in our workshop? Then we want to hear from you…   Over the next 12 months Festive Road is running a unique training programme and we are looking to offer places for up to four trainee artists to work with the company. Initially we are looking for applications from artists to work with us in 2014; however there may be opportunities for trainees to continue working with us into 2015.   We’ll be electing artists who are particularly interested in: working with schools and communities Gaining experience in arts education settings Delivering participatory arts
