MK Lit Fest is back 21-24th September, at Holiday Inn CMK!
Whether you come just to listen, or to participate in our workshop events, our second festival promises a cornucopia of words in all their glory – novels, short stories, poems, spoken word, songs and more. And we have more events than ever: follow www.mklitfest.org to view the main Festival programme.
Join us for the Festival Launch Party on 21st, headlined by poet, playwright and broadcaster Lemn Sissay with supporting performances by a wealth of homegrown talent. Tickets include refreshments to keep you smiling and dancing to the one-off LitFest playlist!
Or Hollie McNish on 22nd, A poet whose readings are not to be missed. Hollie’s online performances have garnered over seven million YouTube views. She joins MK Lit Fest to perform poems, read from and chat honestly and openly from her new collection, Plum, as well as performing some favourites from previous books.
Join Mark Haddon headlining on 23rd, the world-famous author of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, The Red House and The Pier Falls as he reads extracts from the latest draft of his forthcoming novel.
Storyteller Shonaleigh headlines on 24th. She is a drut’syla, a storyteller in a Jewish tradition inherited from her late grandmother. Working actively to expand and share her tradition, she has performed in venues from church halls to London’s Albert Hall, from forests to the Barbican, and at festivals around the world. She also works in schools and among community groups to help people – particularly teenagers and the immigrant community – find their voice.
Put your book down for a few days and join us!
